How can I use HOFA plugins on a computer without internet connection?

If your computer is not connected to the internet, you can still use all the HOFA plugins “offline”. For this, you’ll need the HOFA-Plugins Manager (offline), a USB flash drive and a separate device connected to the internet.

More Information

Downloading the HOFA-Plugins Manager (offline)

Connect your USB drive to a computer that has access to the internet. Then download the HOFA-Plugins Manager (offline) here. On Windows, it is a ZIP file, which you can move and extract to your external flash drive. On macOS, you can copy the DMG file directly onto the drive.

Within you will find the Offline HOFA-Plugins Manager (EXE-file) and a folder containing all the installers and files necessary for installing your plugins.

Activating your licenses on a USB flash drive

Now launch the HOFA-Plugins Manager on the USB drive (“HOFA-Plugins Manager Offline.exe”). Click on “Licenses” and log in with your login credentials, which you entered during the registration in the HOFA-Plugins shop.

In the following selection field, you can then choose the first option, “Activate licenses”. Next, you can select the USB flash drive the licenses are going to be installed to.

Installing your plugins on the offline computer

Now connect your drive to the computer that has no access to the internet. After you have launched the HOFA-Plugins Manager there, an overview of all products that you can select for installation will appear.

First, select the software you wish to install by checking the corresponding boxes.

Select the plugin formats you wish to install at the bottom of the HOFA-Plugins Manager. For Windows, we recommend only checking VST3, for Mac to both check VST3 and AU, and for Pro Tools users to only check the Pro Tools box instead.

Top: Windows, bottom: Mac

Now click on “Install”.

You can now click on “Start” to begin the installation.

Once the plugins are installed, you just need to make sure that the DAW recognizes the plugins by selecting the installation path in the DAW and conducting a rescan.

By the way, the USB drive can be used simultaneously for other purposes without any problems, e.g. for files and licenses from other manufacturers. To free up space, the HOFA-Plugins Manager can also be deleted after the installation is complete. However, the folder “HOFA_Licenses” containing the licenses shall not be removed or renamed.

Installing CD-Burn.DDP.Master (Standalone App)

When installing CD-Burn.DDP.Master (standalone app), all HOFA plugins that you can use for free within the software, are automatically selected for installation. Note that they must be installed in VST3 format to be used.

Using the licenses on the USB drive

As long as the USB drive is plugged into your device, the plugins are licensed on your computer. The same USB drive can also be used on different devices, the plugins on a device being active for as long as the USB drive is plugged into it.
