Media Composer doesn’t search for AAX plugins in subfolders, so our plugins installed in the “HOFA” subfolder won’t be found. As a workaround you can simply move the plugins to the parent directory. Please note that the plugins should be removed by hand before updating.

The AAX plugin directories are:
“C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins\HOFA” (Windows)
“/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins/HOFA” (OS X)
